About Our Parking Rights Manual As Good Sam members, we understand the excitement and adventure of the RV lifestyle that gives us the freedom to explore America’s roads and attractions. However, when we are not pursuing our passion for travel, we must find a place to park our RVs. From rural communities to urban areas, there can be restrictions on where RVs must be parked when not in use.
Some developments have Covenants, Codes and Restrictions (CC&Rs) that may prohibit RV parking. Unfortunately, many times these restrictions surface as a complete surprise to the RV owner. The Good Sam Club has been actively involved in this issue for more than 30 years, and has produced the Good Sam Parking Rights Manual. This checklist includes case studies of ordinances that were resolved both successfully and unsuccessfully.
The Good Sam Parking Advisory Board is a small group of volunteer members who have extensive experience resolving RV parking issues, and can provide fellow members with a wealth of advice and resources. The Club can also supply mailing addresses to members within a local area so that they can be alerted of a problem and join forces to resolve it.
Use our database to determine if parking ordinances exist in your area. Or, send us information on parking-related issues in your area at goodsam@goodsamclub.com.
